Is love a great enough power against evil?
Bethany Church believes so - after all, the love of her angel siblings and her boyfriend Xavier saved her from the clutches of Hell itself.
But when Jake Thorn returns to town determined to take Beth away with him, it seems he may be able to destroy everything she cares about.
Will Jake's actions shatter Beth's faith in love? Or can she overcome heartache and betrayal to fulfil her role on Earth?
My review- Hades was such an amazing book, that i finished it in 2 days and took it with me wherever I went which shows that i was that addicted to it that i could not stop reading to find out what happens next!! Hades was so much better than Halo, which to be honest I did not expect it to be as Halo was all about romance which was a bit of a letdown, however the epilogue in Halo was left at a cliffhanger, and a suspense which suddenly made me want to read the next part to find out what happens next and does Xavier and Beth' s relationship still last? As I started reading Hades, it was getting better and better as I kept going as it was not only about romance but also there was some action, suspense, dilemma's which put some spice into the story line of the book. As horrible as that sounds, I was in a way happy that Xavier and Beth were far apart for each other even though not literally as you would later find out in the book, as otherwise the book would have no meaning if they both lived happily ever after. Later on in the book, you will feel really sorry for Jake as he is in love with someone who cannot love him the same way in return, and as cocky as of a person he is to everyone, you see a side of him that you would not imagine if that is really him? Closer to the end, Beth is faced in a dilemma, which can risk losing Xavier or losing her virginity to Jake and regretting it for the rest of her life... Although it ends in a happy ending, the epilogue makes up for it, once again leaving the readers in a surprise! I cannot wait for the third part to come out " heaven" later on in this month to find out what happens next! I was really surprised how people gave really bad reviews for this book, mostly 1's as i would have expected more in the mix range of 3-5 stars and some of the comments they put just not only makes me feel disgusted at the people but also makes me feel sorry for the author as she has worked so hard on these series of books and the readers pay her back with such humiliation, how would that make you feel if someone did that to you? I also really like the design and the layout of the front cover! This book reached out to me as it was something very different which I had never read anything like before, and If you are a religious philosophical person, I highly recommend this book to you and am sure you would not be disappointed. Although a warning to people who despise poetry about love as it contains quite a bit which might put you off especially in Halo! You also find out that Beth has some secret powers that even herself she did not know about as she is a angel however she has emotions and feelings that a human being would develop unlike her brother and sister which have no intention of being caught in the love triangle, their main expectation is to save the people on Earth and make it a better place! You will not only see a different side to jake but also beth as reading Halo you would see she is quite a weak person and is easily manipulated by others however in hades you see that she has to make some sacrifices even if it means risking her own life which shows a more stronger and more braver side to her as she is willing to put her life in danger in return for her close loved ones to be safe!
